History

Santos was founded on 14 April 1912. Its greatest historical period arrived after Pelé emerged in the 1950s: the club became a major Brazilian force and won consecutive Copa Libertadores and Intercontinental Cup titles in 1962 and 1963. The club also built a long reputation for developing attacking talent.
