History
Wenger arrived at Arsenal in 1996 after coaching in France and Japan and became the club’s first manager from outside the United Kingdom. In his first full season Arsenal won the Premier League and FA Cup double. His teams repeated the double in 2001/02 and then completed the 2003/04 league season unbeaten, creating the side remembered as the Invincibles. Beyond trophies, Wenger introduced changes in training, nutrition, scouting and recruitment that influenced English football more broadly. He also oversaw Arsenal’s move from Highbury to the Emirates Stadium while keeping the club consistently involved in European competition.
