History
The club was legally founded as Sociedad de Fútbol on 7 September 1909, after earlier football organisations in San Sebastián had already competed successfully. King Alfonso XIII granted the “Real” title in 1910. Real Sociedad later won back-to-back La Liga titles in 1980/81 and 1981/82.
