History
Inter was founded on the evening of 9 March 1908 after a group in Milan decided to establish a new club with an explicitly international outlook. The name Foot-ball Club Internazionale Milano captured that idea from the start, while the black-and-blue colours became the enduring visual identity of the club. Inter grew into one of the major powers of Italian football and has remained deeply connected to the history of Serie A and European competition. The club shares San Siro with AC Milan, creating the Derby della Madonnina, one of the sport's most important city rivalries. Inter's major eras include the Grande Inter side of the 1960s and the 2010 team that won the Champions League, Italian league and Coppa Italia in the same season. Footballopedia connects Inter to Serie A, San Siro, AC Milan, European competition, managers and generations of players.
